Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman dominate WWE SummerSlam

After Reigns vs. Lesnar had initially looked like the long-term plan for WrestleMania 34, that seemingly changed a few weeks back when Reigns entered the title picture at SummerSlam.

WWE’s signature August event, SummerSlam, is tonight, ready to shock the sports entertainment world with exciting matches and the possible crowning of new champions. A melee followed and the main event of the night was set.

“SummerSlam” is on Sunday, Aug. 20. Jinder Mahal, will be taking on Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship title.

Samoa Joe will take on WWE Universal champion Brock Lesnar, Brawn Strowman and Roman Reigns in a fatal four-way encounter for the championship.

– The show opened with WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman headed to the ring. It infamously feels reluctant to push any of the current crop as true stars, outside of Lesnar, Reigns, John Cena and, now, Strowman.

Styles capitalised on Owens after he argued with the SmackDown commissioner to keep his belt at SummerSlam. While it seems likely that Ambrose and Rollins will have too many issues to fully gel as a team, the same can nearly be said of Shesaro too, given the way those two started out.

Both tag team championship matches on the ‘Slam card seem really strong (though we’re sad Usos/New Day is on the pre-show), but it’s the former-enemies-turned-frenemies whirlwind for the RAW tag titles that’s keeping us glued. Two triple threat matches were scheduled and they were won by Banks and Jax.

Sasha Banks is acting as a replacement here for Bayley who has been forced to miss out on SummerSlam due to injury. A rematch was then scheduled for WWE SummerSlam.
