Don Lemon: Trump speech a ‘total eclipse of the facts’
Placentia resident Mike Tucker said his mother is mad that he came, especially after the president’s controversial comments about Charlottesville that suggested there were “good people” on both sides of the violent protests there.
At a rally in Phoenix, President Donald Trump went into campaign mode in front of a cheering audience as he blasted the media for criticizing his response to the Charlottesville protests and hinted that he would pardon former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
They chanted, “Pardon Joe!” and the guy was even in the crowd. “His words tended to divide the country, not unite the country”. Referring to the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, he said, “I respect the fact that he is starting to respect us”.
Donald Trump has declared that he would be willing to shut down the U.S. government if that is what it takes for him to be able to complete his wish to build a wall along the Mexico border.
Trump on Wednesday sent a “Build the wall” petition in an email blast to his supporters to pressure GOP senators to vote to fund the barrier.
Protests were held against President Donald Trump as he hosted a rally inside the convention center.
But.but.media says everyone hates Trump. “He [Trump] failed to do it again last night in Phoenix”, the mayor stated.
Trump often went off script and relitigated, in a fashion likely to give White House staff heartburn, how the media covered his reaction to the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, on August 12.
In a press briefing after the arrests, Phoenix Police Chief Jeri Williams pushed back at reports that the scene outside the rally had grown chaotic.
I’m just going to speak from the heart here, what we have witnessed is a total eclipse of the facts.
Trump reread some of his initial response to the deadly rally, notably omitting the phrase “on many sides”, which he used to describe groups inciting violence in Charlottesville. Trump asked the crowd, “So was Sheriff Joe convicted for doing his job?”.
Trump has also expressed frustration with efforts to negotiate with Mexico and Canada to improve NAFTA and it goes without saying that he might soon be terminating the deal. You have some very fair journalists but for the most part, honestly, these are really, really dishonest people.
