Minnesotans win more than $2.8 million in Powerball drawing

But it’s not just Wanczyk who will cash in.

You can only get the big jackpot if you match all five white balls (in any order) and you match the red Powerball.

In Wednesday night’s Hot Lotto drawing, two tickets matched four of the first five numbers and the Hot Ball and are each worth $3,000.

Winning less than that would have been fine with many, it seemed.

Both Powerball and Mega Millions tickets are available in all but six states – Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada and Utah.

Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. But it became even more hard recently – thanks to a rule change in October 2015 that tweaked the odds.
