Apple to bring wireless charging to iPhone 8
APPLE will unveil the iPhone 8 in just over two weeks, it has been claimed.
The news comes from an unnamed source which claims that the Apple iPhone 8 is powered by Qi standard wireless charging technology. French site Mac4Ever, with corroborating information from French telecom networks, reported last week that the Apple launch will take place on the 12th.
We’ve seen it before, but here it is again, a purported iPhone 8 component that’s said to enable the handset’s rumored wireless charging feature. For us, iPhone has offered in three storage configurations is nothing since pretty much most of the iPhones have offered in three storage configurations. This was a great addition, and it allowed the device to respond to various degrees of pressure applied by the user to the display. The speculated “iPhone 8” is going to have a taller screen which fills everything but the camera, speaker, and sensors at the front of the phone. This suggests that the wireless charging Qi pad from other providers will not be compatible with the iPhone 8.
The next iPhone has not been released, announced, or even teased by Apple yet, but that hasn’t stopped anyone-Quartz included-from obsessing over what it will look like and what it’ll be able to do. A new Apple Watch, as well as a 4K Apple TV box, is also likely to make its debut at the event. While one source has preferred to remain anonymous on it, the other one has revealed about what role it plays on introducing wireless charging on the iPhone 8. Samsung and company already have fast charging features on their phones which Apple has yet to adopt. The front of the handset will be nearly entirely dominated by a large 5.8-inch OLED display. Wireless charging of these phones is expected to be functional only with the chargers made for Apple products, under the program MfI (Made for iPhone).
September is set to be a busy month for flagship devices.
“Clearly, Apple wants to do something different for the [iPhone’s] 10th anniversary”, says Stephen Baker, an analyst at research firm NPD Group.
In strict terms, this year should see the announcement of the iPhone 7s, following Apple’s typical structure of a new model one year and its “s” upgrade the following year.
