Donald Trump in Texas: Hurricane Harvey a Storm of ‘Epic Proportion’
In Houston, the largest shelter at the convention center has a capacity of 5,000 people, but as of Tuesday morning, it was housing more than 9,000 evacuees.

Tropical Storm Harvey is finally starting to crawl away from Texas while catastrophic flooding continues there.
Police have plucked more than 3,000 people from flooded neighbourhoods across the city, with the coastguard’s boats and helicopters rescuing another 3,000.
Since making landfall, Harvey has weakened to a tropical storm and retreated back into the Gulf of Mexico, but Texans are far from out of the woods.

Southwestern parts of Louisiana are also preparing for potentially disastrous flooding, and hundreds of people have already been evacuated from chest-deep water after a heavy band of rain inundated Lake Charles on Monday night.
Tuesday marks 12 years since Hurricane Katrina hit the Louisiana Gulf Coast.
