Man Utd: Jose Mourinho Hails The Improvement In Quality Of His Team
Jose Mourinho praised Manchester United’s perseverance as second-half goals from Marcus Rashford and Marouane Fellaini broke down Leicester City’s massed defence in a tense 2-0 win.
But just three minutes after coming, substitute Rashford opened the scoring by volleying home a corner in the 70th minute.
They have failed in bids for Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic and Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale. It doesn’t matter if they come from the bench because the group is solid.
I’m happy for them – all of them working hard, trying to be in the line-up.
Maybe they say I’m defensive.
United signed the two-time Premier League victor in 2010 for an undisclosed fee, who went on to make his debut as a late substitute in a 3-1 win over Chelsea.
“If we manage to have him safe and protected from injuries, I think potentially, he’s everything I like in a central defender”. “The pre-season was very complete and then we started the Premier League and we are playing well”, he said.
Still early in the season, United have by far looked the best team in England – and the only one to win three in three. They defended very well. And while Jose Mourinho deserves credit for the team’s performances, there are a few players that have stood out thus far.
A saved penalty, a controversial offside, umpteen superb saves from the opposition keeper – all things that would have ruffled their feathers last season – were taken in their stride – as Mourinho said: “There is a difference in the quality of our football”.
Lindelof, for his part, is using his time out of the starting line-up to try and adapt to the demands of playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world.
De Gea kept out Riyad Mahrez from a tight angle when Leicester had a rare venture forward at the other end, after which Foxes manager Craig Shakespeare introduced Demarai Gray and Andy King from the bench. I would say one of the most unsafe players in the Premier League.
The Foxes have visited the Emirates Stadium and Old Trafford so far this term and host champions Chelsea in their first game back after the worldwide break.
“We spoke about it after the Arsenal game and we worked on it, but we have to put it into action as well”.
“They’ve bought really well and if we keep on their coattails we’ll have done well”, the former Liverpool centre-back added. It might be easy for people to praise the ones who have done so well in the opening games of the season, but I prefer to praise the wonderful professionals who are not playing at the moment.
