‘Tomb Raider’ exclusivity not an easy decision, says Square Enix CEO
The game showcased exciting gameplays and features that can give other upcoming titles a run for their money, including “Fallout 4”.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is a timed exclusive for the Xbox One, which means that it will probably sell fewer copies than Fallout 4, which is designed to arrive on the Microsoft device, the PlayStation 4 and the PC.
But Game Director Brian Horton is not anxious.
The reason he’s not afraid is because he feels his game offers a different gaming experience.
We’re big fans of Fallout, it’s such a great game.
If you ask the developers, they say they are cool with it.
Lara Croft in those “Rise of this very Tomb Raider“.
He also emphasized a major improvement in the game which is the elimination of loading screens that is expected to boost the players seamless experience throughout the game with the exceptions of the character’s death or if the player quits the game.
The game is also set to be 3 times larger than the last games, with special attention paid to the tombs themselves.
“We also introduced new traversal mechanics, like Lara can climb trees and can swim underwater and can use that not only for traversal but as a way too subtly approach an enemy and take them out from above or from below”, Horton told GamingBolt.
The “Rise of the Tomb Raider” will see the main character in the ancient city of Kitze in Siberia to solve mysteries and find the answer to gaining immortal life, noted Cinema Blend.
Mr. Horton said that the game will indulge players from all genres: “If you’re a fan of Tomb Raider in all incarnations whether it’s the core classics, the legendary first era of Crystal Dynamics or the reboot, know that we’re going to have something a little bit for everyone in here”. PC and PS4 gamers won’t get to play the game until 2016. As for Xbox owners, it will be interesting to see which game they decide to buy/play first. No exact date has been announced for this yet.
