Taylor Swift sends flowers to Cardi B for hitting No. 1 spot
Her voice is deep and confident.
“Matter fact imma tell you how it went”, she starts off the story. If anyone is more deserving, it’s the “Bodak Yellow” singer.
Bronx-born rapper Cardi B‘s breakout hit “Bodak Yellow” is the number-one song in the USA this week, so of course Azealia Banks has something to say about it. Banks began Monday evening with a series of quickly deleted tweets deeming Cardi B “a poor mans nicki” Minaj. Without Cardi B this song would be a flop.
If you had never heard Cardi B’s name prior to this month, you would not be alone-but a lot has changed since then. Her debut album isn’t coming out until October.
If you didn’t know Cardi’s “Bodak Yellow” assisted her in making history, you’ve been under a rock.
See her gift to Cardi below. But did you know that she also starred in sex toy ads for a local NY sex shop?
“Sooo handsome and lovely”, she wrote. She also claims, “They all call you a smut and say your ass is purple”. In one interview she even stated that she had wished her competition wasn’t the songstress because she loves the song so much.
Azealia wrote on Instagram: “Please let me clear up any misconception for anyone that took my words out of context: I am incredibly flattered and so excited about a future collaboration with Iggy”.
While Taylor hasn’t responded directly on social media, she did like the post from her personal Tumblr.
But Taylor Swift doesn’t seem to think there’s any bad blood; she even sent Cardi B flowers. While some applaud her bluntly calling out things for the way they are, most people opine that she spews unnecessary drama for attention.
Cardi B had the chance to cultivate a following on her own terms. The result is someone who feels like an alter ego to some and resembles a best friend or big sister for others.
Fans are awaiting this release and hope for it to top the charts as her single has.
Cardi was humbled by the gesture, taking to Instagram to show off the massive bouquet. Her taste, the result of growing up shopping on Fordham Road in NY, is, in her words “thotty”. She’s unabashedly sex positive.
