Foldable ZTE Axon M is official with dual touchscreens
However, the new Axon M launched by ZTE is no ordinary phone, it has two full-sized screens attached together with a hinge. The Android device sports a pair of 5.2-inch 1920×1080 LCD screens that also combine for a 6.75-inch (2160-pixel) wide viewing area when both screens are active side-by-side.
Two screens for the price of one!
Allowing consumers to use two apps on two different screens at the same time, Dual mode provides unlimited potential in app combinations so consumers can do more, all at once.
We must tell you that the Axon M is not the first dual-screen phone in the industry, the first phone with this design was the Kyocera Echo. The Chinese smartphone maker announced the ZTE Axom M Tuesday. The two displays can either be folded like a traditional smartphone or opened up side-by-side to appear like a tablet. This feature can be seen in the image below and was created to both enhance productivity in certain apps by providing users with more screen real estate to work with and ennoble regular media viewing experiences, according to ZTE. You can multitask and watch video content on one while chatting with your friends on the other. “Mirror mode” will duplicate the same content on both screens for some reason, and “traditional” seems like it will turn off the extra screen for a normal smartphone experience. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset, packs in 4GB of RAM and houses a 20-megapixel camera. However, ZTE has ushered forward, with the Axon M to beat competitors to the punch. The phone has a 3,180 mAh of battery capacity. The other screen can be folded to the rear and can be extended outwards as well.
The new ZTE Axon M offers a dual screen experience with four operating modes. There’s also a “quick-launch button” that you can use to access the camera via a double-click, and you can customize it to launch your favorite apps with or without the second screen.
ZTE Axon M will run Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box. It looks neat! Let’s take a look at the specifications. There are dual speakers onboard, besides a dedicated Hi-Fi audio chip, a very handy 3.5mm headphone jack besides a USB Type-C port. The phone will be available exclusively from AT&T carrier in the United States. If you choose the EMI option, you have to pay $24.17 of installments for 30 months.
