Theater sets up tipline for Kevin Spacey complaints
Netflix is exploring a House of Cards spin-off after announcing it is cancelling the show amid sexual assault claims surrounding star Kevin Spacey.
Netflix said it was “deeply troubled” by the allegations, which were made by Star Trek: Discovery and Rent actor Anthony Rapp.
In a statement, Spacey said he was “beyond horrified to hear (Rapp’s) story”, adding: “I honestly do not remember this encounter”.
Washington D.C. [USA], Oct 31: Netflix’s acclaimed Kevin Spacey-starring political drama’s next season is going to be its last. However, a Netflix spokesperson confirmed to Guardian Australia that the decision to end the show was made much earlier.
The International Emmy Awards tweeted Monday that, given the new information, the organization has rescinded a planned recognition for Spacey.
Kevin Spacey will no longer be honored at the 2017 International Emmys amid allegations that the actor sexually harassed then-14-year-old Anthony Rapp. “Media Rights Capital and Netflix have always set the highest standards in their work and I want to thank them unreservedly”.
People also criticized Spacey for seeming to qualify his apology with the fact that he was drunk at the time of the alleged encounter with Rapp.
“House of Cards” is caving in.
“In light of recent events, MasterClass has closed enrollment in Kevin Spacey’s online class”, the company said in a statement to Variety. The Academy said in June that it would present the award to Spacey at the 45th International Emmy Awards Gala to be held on November 20 in NY.
The Independent newspaper, Press Association and Sky News say London’s Metropolitan Police is now investigating allegations against Weinstein by 7 women over incidents that reportedly took place from the 1980s to 2015.
Benjamin Butterworth, who writes for Pink News, said he couldn’t have made more of a mistake.
The final “House of Cards” episodes are in production in the Baltimore area, with a release date yet to be announced.
“He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold”, Rapp recalled.
