WhatsApp down: Messaging app not working for users worldwide

For now, WhatsApp’s 1.2 Billion users will have to resort to Messenger or Facebook and other IMs to communicate with each other.

WhatsApp services have returned to normal after an outage in both South Africa and around the world.

“If u can’t reply your gf [on] whatsapp within 5mins, she will get angry” another commenter pointed out.

“The world is more peaceful now without Whatsapp” one commented.

Almost a thousand users from around the world had reported the app on Friday, according to independent website DownDetector. During the period it was down, users were being shown a “connecting” message.

Its official Twitter status account for example which is supposed to Tweet when the service is experiencing problems, appears to be no longer updated. These new features are only increasing people’s reliability on WhatsApp.

The extent of the outage and the reasons for it were not immediately known.

And as it has always been the case, user took to Twitter to vent out their frustration albeit in much hilarious fashion. They admitted that even within few hours of the outage, people felt very depressed and wanted to know if whatsapp is down for everyone.
