Support Small Business Saturday
Many local businesses are gearing up for Small Business Saturday.
For the holiday season, Belinfante said, “I think the best seller is going to be the 65-inch smart television sets but we also sell a lot of kitchen appliances like dishwashers that help people with holiday celebrations”.
“The bags are to remind people to shop small on Small Business Saturday”, chamber Executive Director Dawn Smith said.
New Haven especially has made a big push over the years to get shoppers down here by including free perks such as free and discounted parking.
Many local retailers are offering special bargains, refreshments, and complementary gift-wrapping for the occasion, hoping to entice Cape shoppers to open their wallets and support their community.
According to a report by the U.S. Small Business Administration, there are 2.4 million small business in Florida. “We invite Naples residents and visitors to stop by on November 25 and shop one of our boutiques and galleries – and stay for lunch or dinner”.
“We really wanted to bring something special to the River Market District”, says Dubre.
The holiday shopping season is upon us. “You know, what we try to do is some different things to make it more enjoyable for our customers”. “It’s very busy and in our store you’re actually back to back bumping into people but it’s very fun”, Castaneda.
“Just really reconsider where you want to spend your dollars this year and try to shop locally”, she said.
“A nice small town feel of individual shop owners that have unique products you don’t feel out on the retail marketplace”.
“My husband, he is a dialysis patient and he needs a kidney and this is kind of like fundraising that we are doing.and my daughter and grand daughter are here supporting us”, said Abigail Delney, owner of Abi’s bows and crosses.
Knight said another reason she shops local, is because it’s easier to get help if you run into problems. From 9:30 a.m.to 12:30 p.m. will have a book sale and from 1-4 p.m clothes are 50 percent off.
