FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Sunshine returns today with slightly cooler temperatures
Thursday: Sunshine followed by evening clouds.
We will keep some clouds around for Friday before we clear a lot of them out by Saturday as high pressure returns and temperatures warm through the weekend.
Most of the early evening is dry.
Skies will be mostly sunny thanks to a high pressure system parked over the area.
The front will trigger showers for this afternoon mainly between 2-6 pm and temperatures will fall behind the cold front.
Today will bring a mix of sun and clouds at times with high temperatures around 50 degrees. Therefore, expect another mostly sunny and mild day on Wednesday, which should in fact be the mildest day of the forecast as highs inch up a few more degrees on top of Tuesday’s already mild temperatures. Highs on Wednesday are only in the 60s.
Our Futureview model shows that clearing line working down to southern IN by 2 p.m., which means full sunshine for central IN by that point. Temperatures will cool down to the lower 50s. High: Mid-upper 40s. Colder air looks to arrive behind this system, which could cause some snow showers Wednesday night before wet weather ends. These clouds will filter the sunshine with a few isolated sprinkles possible across northern and western New Mexico.
Our weekend looks even warmer. Sunday gets brisk from a developing storm out to sea. Now this afternoon we have partly cloudy skies overhead.
An upper level disturbance should bring increasing high clouds to our area Thursday night. We will likely have a good amount of rain, then much cooler temperatures coming behind it!
