‘Halo 5: Guardians’ update: Split-screen mode to be scrubbed
The “Infection” multiplayer was essentially a “Halo” zombie mode that had players join a team of the living or a team of the undead in a battle for survival.
343 industries have announced a possible new zombie’s game mode entitled “Infection”, for Halo: Master Chief Collection on Xbox One.
In a post on Halo Waypoint, developer 343 Industries notes that “it’s quite likely” that news of Halo‘s “Infection” multiplayer game mode will come out “in the coming weeks” for MCC fans. After releasing the new Action Sack playlist, a recent Halo Waypoint update revealed that Infection could be heading to the Collection in the coming weeks.
343 industries is continuously adding new playlists and majority have been on top for a few days.
“Infection” proved to be a popular multiplayer mode when it was part of “Halo 3“, so much so that it ended up being part of subsequent ” Halo” games.
Infection casts one player as the “Infected”, armed with melee weapons only and tasked with converting the “survivor” players into infected themselves. “Look for more details as we get closer to the release”.
The same Halowaypoint blog also includes more information on the results of the Halo Championship Series Season 2 Finals, the new point of view game feature with unique heads up displays for each character in Halo 5, and more information about the mechanics of Warzone game mode in Halo 5. The mode returned in “Halo 4“, but was renamed as “Flood”.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection had major problems when it launched in late 2014, but since then, the developers have fixed the technical issues and the matchmaking and have offered all the ODST content, which was missing on launch.
