Winter Weather Advisory starts tomorrow for much of the area

Snow is now falling in parts of Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and Ontario, and is continuing to march eastward into the Upper Ohio Valley and toward the Northeast. Snowfall may total over 6-inches in portions of northwest in where lake-enhanced snowfall could combine with system snow. Rain will mix in farther south and limit or prevent accumulations. The heaviest amounts are expected along and northeast of Interstate 74. The timing of the change will determine how much snow falls.

Two weather systems will combine to create a storm system which will bring snow and rain to Southern New England Sunday night and Monday morning. “Some 1-2” could show up for northern parts of the state.

Flurries or local snow squalls Christmas Day. Wind chills that low will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin. Any snow that does fall and accumulates will become slushy.

The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency says snow is predicted to spread over most of Massachusetts late Sunday and last into midday Monday, although there’s uncertainty about the storm’s track. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Litchfield county where prolonged icing is expected.
