DeAngelo Hall Returns From 2 Achilles Operations
Second-year cornerback Bashaud Breeland had to be carted off the practice field on Friday after suffering an apparent right leg injury.
Breeland went down to the ground a couple of hours after the league announced that he had been suspended for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
The Redskins now have no comment on Breeland’s pending suspension. He will, however, be allowed to participate in all offseason activities, including preseason games.
Breeland was drafted out of Clemson in the fourth round of last year’s draft, and after DeAngleo Hall tore his Achilles during Week Three, he was thrust into a starting role.
He played in 15 games and made two interceptions last for the Redskins, who went 4-12. He will be eligible to return to the Redskins’ active roster on September 14.
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) – Washington Redskins coach Jay Gruden says cornerback Bashaud Breeland is expected to miss four to six weeks with an MCL problem in his right knee.
Breeland was cited for possession of marijuana final August. 11 on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth College in Richmond.
The team said Breeland would speak to the media after training camp practice Friday.
