Buffalo Bills coach suspended after Florida incident
Aaron Kromer will not be on the sidelines for the first six weeks of the season. Kromer allegedly got into a physical altercation with a minor over the use of beach chairs and was initially charged with misdemeanor battery earlier this month.
He then threw the kids’ fishing poles into the water and threatened to kill the victim’s family if the incident were reported to police, according to the report. Kromer was waiting for a decision, while on indefinite paid administrative leave, but will now be punished for at least six games. “We labored together with the NFL on this matter and we’re extremely supportive of the NFL Private Conduct Coverage that holds all NFL membership staff to a better normal”.
“We look forward to Coach Kromer rejoining the Bills organization at Training Camp.”
The Bills are scheduled to practice Monday night, before getting a day off on Tuesday. His suspension will start before Week 1 of the regular season and go through Week 6, but he’ll work during training camp and the preseason. The suspension will run through Buffalo’s game against Cincinnati on October 18.
Pat Meyer, who was most recently an offensive line coach for the Chicago Bears, also shared some of the coaching duties with Anderson, per Fox Sports’ Alex Marvez.
The offensive line is in flux after it was one of Buffalo’s weak spots during a 9-7 finish last season.
The news broke after camp ended Friday so Saturday was the first opportunity for Bills head coach Rex Ryan to comment.
On Sunday, Ryan said there remains a competition at right guard and right tackle.
