WWE Royal Rumble 2018

It’s time for me to pull out the old defective crystal ball and do our WWE 2018 Royal Rumble preview and predictions.

Since then, the women’s division has seen a lot of innovative matches and on Sunday, they will create history once more as they take part in the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match. But it’s also important for all of us – not just as Black women, but just as women, period – to showcase who we are and represent for women of all ethnicities, races and colors.

“Get the most important statistics, facts and figures before the 2018 Royal Rumble event”, the caption of the clip reads. It’s seemed rather obvious since last WrestleMania that Roman is going to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at this year’s WrestleMania.

Of course, the Royal Rumble signals the beginning of the Road to WrestleMania, so the company wants you to stick around for its “Super Bowl season”.

If someone other than those three win, it would be a pretty big surprise. Instead, only the person who scores the pinfall or gets the submission will be the champion. A returning Samoa Joe or Dolph Ziggler? Only Reigns is looking at a straight line to a title opportunity. Even Daniel Bryan has moved his way up the betting odds? Cena is only a part-time WWE talent these days and his movie schedule is problematic for a company that would likely rather choose a victor who can promote WrestleMania by being on the show week after week. Will it come on Sunday? So much so, the federation signed her up, making her WWE’s first ever Indian female wrestler. Find out who will be the last woman standing when you take on dozens of competitors.

The likely victor is the undefeated Asuka. And then, when the match commenced, fans were in awe of her performance. He has been built as a larger-than-life monster. Roode went on to hold the title through the spring and summer before eventually losing it to Drew McIntyre at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III.

It will not cost a penny to watch the two-hour kickoff show from 10pm before the main show starts. Strowman pins Kane to win the belt and Lesnar is protected before the rematch. Owens and Zayn need some conflict, too.

AJ Styles retains the WWE Championship. One, it would further the Shane McMahon-Bryan rift. This leaves twelve spots open for surprise entrants.

Stephanie McMahon scared the life out of IWC fans everywhere when she announced that she will be on commentary for the match. Heels don’t share! I could see them using this as a short-term way to tease some friction between Zayn and Owens, as well as giving SmackDown some intrigue with the “co-champions” angle, even if it’s just for a month. Who could make their debut? While the blue brand’s tag champs, The Usos, will defend against Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin in what will likely be a pretty fun match. It’s a repeat dream match from New Japan that WWE has been teasing since the King of Strong Style has been on the main roster. He eventually achieved his goal and the championship by defeating former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal in a tournament to determine a new US Champion.

Or will this be the time for Strowman’s coronation?

Asuka rolling along is ho hum. While she lost the match, the Indian wrestler made a fantastic impression.

As for the Rumble itself, Flair is obviously rooting for her close friend Becky Lynch, but expects several top WWE talent to be among the final group to battle for a berth at WrestleMania.

His victory will get the biggest pop – and leave fans happy for once. They aren’t scheduled to compete, but they were on Raw on Monday, and anything is possible in the WWE.

The WWE needs to hit this one out of the ballpark.
