Jay Z and Beyonce Headline Clive Davis Awesome Pre-Grammy Party!!!

But halfway through the awards ceremony, Beyoncé and daughter Blue Ivy, 6, blessed us with their presence, sitting in the audience alongside Jay-Z, who for his album “4:44”.

On the night before the Grammy awards, Jay-Z took the stage at a NY dinner attended by music industry titans to discuss his complex relationship with music’s highest honors, where the odds are historically stacked against hip-hop artists winning top accolades.

“I’m gonna say a lot of things tonight, but it’s all coming from a place of honesty”, he said while accepting the 2018 Salute to Industry Icons Award.

But in a sign of shifting cultural trends, this year the majority of contenders for the top prize are hip-hop artists.

JAY-Z was nominated for eight Grammys this year-more than any other artist, and he somehow went home without a single award. Many of this year’s nominations are coming from the hip-hop and R&B genres.

The pop diva joined him on Saturday night at the traditional pre-Grammys party hosted by veteran music executive Clive Davis. “There’s just the wonders of music to celebrate”. But, according to a new report from The Los Angeles Times, he was slated to perform during this year’s awards show and declined. Another Twitter user said it looked like “actual footage of my friends telling me to calm down every time “Havana” comes on the radio”.

JAY-Z said, “a handsome lady whom I love dearly” prompted his return in 2004 when Beyonce, whom he referred to as “The First Lady of Music”, was nominated for her debut solo album, insane in Love. “I think she’s fantastic”.

Oh yeah, and something else dope happened at the Pre-Grammy Gala. He’s known for his hit song about suicide prevention.

The Grammys is airing live from Madison Square Garden at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
