Victims’ father tries to attack Larry Nassar at MI sentencing hearing

The father of three victims rushed toward Larry Nassar during day two of sentencing in Eaton County, Michigan on Friday morning.

“Let me have that son of a b–“, Margraves said as he lunged toward Nassar in the witness box.

A father of three women who accused Larry Nassar of sexual abuse ran towards Nassar during Friday’s court proceedings in an attempt to attack him.

“No one can behave like this”, Assistant Attorney General Angela Povilaitis says to the gallery.

The comment at first elicited chuckles from the courtroom, and the judge Janice Cunningham replied “I can’t do that”. She said Nassar’s pedophilia was not an isolated incident, and gymnastics and gyms like Twistars have a “specific culture” that allows people like him to flourish.

He admitted to using his position as a doctor to molest girls and in January was sentenced to between 40 and 175 years in prison. Friday’s hearing focuses on his activity at an elite MI gymnastics club.

Shortly following his sentencing last week, the USOC issued an open apology to Nassar’s victims and announced that it would allocate funding to testing, treatment and counseling for Nassar’s victims. I’m embarrassed. I’m not here to upstage my daughters.

Before leaving to serve his time, the pedophile doctor faced his victims and made a statement to them. Nassar also abused girls while working at Michigan State, and the school’s president and athletic director are among those who resigned amid the scandal. Nassar’s lawyer Matt Newburg leaped up block him and deputies wrestled the fuming father to the ground as he shouted at them, “What if this happened to you guys?” I immediately broke down as they apologized. The judge says she can’t do that.
