Trump for ‘fair, equitable, merit-based’ immigration system

Republicans appear headed into the year with the idea that 2017 was when they got bigger items done and that 2018 will be a time to deal with necessary business, including spending and immigration.

But some GOP lawmakers on Sunday interview shows said the memo has nothing to do with the ongoing Mueller investigation, which also involves whether the president and his aides sought to obstruct justice. They overwhelmingly support its public release.

It alleged that that the warrant obtained by the Federal Bureau of Investigation from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court to monitor former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page was based on an unsubstantiated dossier of negative information on the Republican presidential candidate.
