WhatsApp Payments is nearly here, shows up on WhatsApp Beta

After working on its development since a year ago, WhatsApp has introduced a beta version of its digital payment feature on Android and iOS in India. You have to select the bank you have your account in and after choosing the bank, the user needs to verify the bank account just like other UPI services. There is a new payments option called WhatsApp Payments and by linking it with your bank account, it will become possible for you to send funds to your contacts in an effortless manner. It must be noted that the person must have a UPI account as well.

The well known informing application, Whatsapp, has discharged the UPI payment include for the comfort of the valetin for its Indian clients. Armed with both, WhatsApp will join the battle against digital payments rivals Paytm Mobile Solutions Pvt Ltd, One MobiKwik Systems Private Limited and Google Tez. This means that WhatsApp is in the final stage of inclusion of the payment feature on the Android and iOS app. In an iPhone screenshot, available on the social media platforms, a list of Indian banks was seen supporting the service at launch.

WhatsApp’s payment option move comes close on the heels of another rollout of a feature that connects small businesses with customers. Following this, the payment will be processed easily with a single tap followed by authentication via the UPI PIN.

WhatsApp is owned by Facebook, and it seems as if the parent company is spreading its money transfer services over various apps in order to cover the most ground. When also considering that India surpassed the U.S. for the first time in the amount of time spent using mobile apps each month, it makes sense for WhatsApp to debut its payments service in India. However, that is expected to change in the future as the company has already started working the voice calling feature for WhatsApp Web.

This feature is available on WhatsApp version 2.18.21 for iOS, and version 2.18.41 for Android.

WhatsApp is also planning to launch a sticker packs on its app, as seen in the Facebook messenger application.
