Trump criticises FBI over handling of Florida school shooting suspect tip
A separate walkout was scheduled for April 20 in honor of the victims of the shooting almost two decades ago that left 13 people dead at Columbine High School in Colorado.
Trump tweeted that he will meet with people “whose lives have been totally shattered”, but did not elaborate on his plans.
He was expected to thank first responders to the horrific high school shooting and may come face-to-face with parents, survivors and others, some of whom have angrily called for firm action to prevent future assaults.
“Any politician on either side who is taking money from the NRA is responsible for events like this”, the high school junior said of the shooting on February 14 that killed 17 students and teachers at the school.

Authorities say the alleged gunman used an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle that he legally bought in the shooting.
The atrocity is the 18th school shooting since 2018 began.
Asked by a reporter in the hospital if he had seen any victims, Trump said, “Yes, I did”.
At least 17 died when a former student opened fire at the school in Parkland, Florida, on Wednesday.
The FBI said Friday that someone who knew Cruz called an agency tip line on January 5 and left information about Cruz’s “gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting”.
Trump has resisted strengthening firearm laws in the wake of mass shootings, echoing an argument that the time for discussing legislative solutions to gun violence is not in the immediate moments following such tragedies.
