The Bachelor recap: Everyone says ‘I love you’
I’m not a Krystal fan by any means, but there is no denying that her insane antics semi-revived a rather boring lackluster season. Honestly, we were given hardly any clues, and it could have been pretty much any of them. Finally, in the happiest date of the episode, Arie and Becca K., the 27-year-old publicist from Minneapolis, explore the aquatic life around the Ballestas Islands. He spent three nights in three Fantasy Suites, told two women that he loves them and one woman that he is falling in love with her, and then someone’s ex showed up and it’s all a big head-scratcher.
Reality television first caught her attention when as she worked on set design for Keeping up with the Kardashians 10 year Anniversary. Krystal in turn said Caroline mocked her behind her back.
“I mean obviously I know that the show ends in a proposal and she’s the love of my life, I want to marry her”, he tells the former race vehicle driver.
Time did not heal all wounds where Krystal and her fellow contestants were concerned.
The controversial contestant didn’t apologize for her behavior throughout the season, but she did admit that there were things she would have changed.
When Krystal thought she was out of range of a mic, she had some very insulting things to say about Arie and the other women.
“It’s about not being seen for the person you are because of what someone thinks about you based on how you dress, do your makeup, do (your) hair, whatever it may be”, she wrote.
Before their time is up, Arie also told Becca he loves her.
Juicy stuff. Other episode highlights included Bekah Martinez calling her mom on speakerphone to address her missing status, Chris Harrison teasing that she’ll be heading to Bachelor In Paradise, Tia Booth making a play for the Bachelorette title by weeping over Arie, etc. After she was sent home, Bekah made a decision to go away with friends for a couple of weeks, to a marijuana farm no less, where she had no cellphone service. Kendall opens up about the drama that unfolded in last week’s episode and explains that she felt slightly guilty for “taking” the rose from Tia. He told Jacqueline that her going for her Ph.D. was not an obstacle, but clearly he wasn’t able to go forward. Though Kendall had hinted that she wouldn’t accept the Fantasy Suite card if she didn’t feel ready for a proposal, when the time comes…
“So, I mean, this whole time you’ve said that you’re here because you’re trying to find a wife”. And I just really don’t understand.
“It sucks because I really care a lot about you”, Kendall said.
Mathias specifically said after that date in January that she felt “glam-shamed”.
Then Krystal joined Arie on the couch.
“In a way, looking back now, I feel like it was pretty appropriate”, Arie retorted as the audience cheered. It might have thrown off some to see someone with an interest in taxidermy, but her unique personality helped her gain fans every single week before her elimination. As Bibiana would say to Krystal, “Why are you here?!”
With the runner-up facing potentially “the worst heartbreak in Bachelor history”, she’s likely a shoo-in to become the next Bachelorette, and start the whole Ben-Lauren-JoJo cycle all over again. Bakah M. also confronted Arie and questioned whether or not he was more insecure about her age than anyone else. Chris wrapped things up with some clips of the girls blocking each other.
“The Bachelor” airs at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
