Boney Kapoor emphasised in the note how important Sridevi was to the family, terming her as the “axis” around which their entire family revolved. Arjun had also said, My relationship with Sridevi is very cordial.

Sridevi, who appeared in 300 films in several Indian languages in a career spanning 50 years, died on Saturday in Dubai.

The Bollywood star’s body, wrapped in the national flag, was kept at the Celebration Sports Club in Mumbai where fans and actors paid their last respects.

Boney Kapoor shared an emotional note on Twitter, claiming that the family’s lives would never be the same without Sridevi.

The newspaper said Kapoor, 62, discovered his wife unconscious in the bathtub filled with water. A medical team failed to revive her and she was declared dead at a hospital.

The security guards, who were inside the hall in large numbers, made sure that fans did not click any pictures of the late actor while offering their condolences.

Indian president Ram Nath Kovind said millions of fans were left heartbroken by the star’s death. It’s hard to believe that the charming actor is no longer amongst us but it’s a truth that all of us have to live with.

The actress had flown to the United Arab Emirates to attend the wedding of her nephew Mohit Marwah.

She took a 15-year hiatus from 1997 after marrying Kapoor and having two daughters.

She returned to work in 2012.

Maharashtra government accorded full state honours for the funeral of Sridevi, who was conferred a Padma Shri in 2013.

Her friends and colleagues from the industry, including Jeetendra, Shah Rukh Khan, Vidya Balan, Arjun Rampal, Deepika Padukone, Raj Kumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, were present at the crematorium to bid her a final farewell.
