Derby student arrested after a weapon found on school property

There will be walkouts at each of the schools, but as for the specific location at which students will gather, that’s not being revealed, in an abundance of caution.

Earlville recently dealt with a school violence issue of its own when a student was charged with disorderly conduct for making threats at school.

“I was actually waiting for someone else to coordinate it, but hadn’t heard anything”. “Because it was so thrown together, it was mostly just an expression of our emotions on the issue and a promotion of later events… and the upcoming elections”.

It was not all quiet at Matanzas High School this morning.

“If everyone leaves the classroom, then they can leave and lock the doors”, a teacher said. “If your school does that, the ACLU wants to hear from you”.

“If they can doing that the only way they could do that is with a fire drill, and if that was incorporated in this as a way to have everyone exit the building, I don’t think that’s appropriate”. They have learned a lot about leadership already, they said.

“I am a proud principal”, Henderson said.
