Unearthed OJ Simpson interview sounds a lot like a confession

O.J. Simpson has basically confessed to the murders of his wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman.

Simpson said to Regan that he had been to Nicole Brown Simpson’s gravesite and “cursed” at her, telling her, “Look at these kids, look at Sydney with no mother”.

At other points in the interview, Simpson mentions that he often travelled with a knife in his vehicle to protect himself against “the crazies” and that he “got into a kind of karate thing” with Mr Goldman.

In his “imagined” version of events, OJ says he confronted Nicole at her home with an accomplice he calls Charlie.

The former football star says he and Charlie then fled and tossed the bloody clothes.

The 70-year-old is interviewed by book publisher Judith Regan, who collaborated with him on his controversial book, “If I Did It”. I’m just glad Simpson only killed his wife and didn’t do something really bad, like kneel while the national anthem is playing. “I have no idea why they have made a decision to air this special now”, he said.

In the interview, Simpson recounts details of the evening in question and drifts in and out of the first person.

He also made the freakish claim that Brown and Goldman had in fact harmed him. He served nine years after a conviction on several charges related to breaking into a hotel room there in 2007.

So far as I’m concerned this is a confession.

Simpson mentions small recollections of the incident including the moment he held a knife in his hand and “Charlie” (a figment of his imagination) speaking to him.

Sunday night, Fox aired its O.J. Some believe that this interview is evidence of Simpson actually admitting he was responsible for the murders. Fox had planned on airing the interview 12 years ago but scrapped the project, reportedly because of public outrage over the book Simpson wrote about the murders, Variety reported. Their children Justin and Sydney Simpson were asleep upstairs in their bedroom at the time of the murder. The book was later published with proceeds claimed by the Goldman family as part of a verdict in the family’s civil lawsuit against Simpson.

The special included a panel of analysts, led by Soledad O’Brien, who concluded this was a confession from Simpson.

Gilbert recalled: “I just asked him: ‘What happened June 12th?’ Whatever you want to take from it, I can not control it”, said Simpson.

“The one thing that hurts me as much as anything in this – aside from being considered a murderer – is being a batterer”, Simpson says. “This was literally misplaced”, Wrong said on Thursday before screening 45 minutes of the interview for journalists.
