How to Turn Your Smartphone into a 3D Hologram
Options are still fairly limited, but you’re building a holograms with your phone so let’s not get too greedy, OK? People upload all sorts of mad apps every day. And then the next time someone starts showing off their new iPhone, you can whip out this trick and make even an old beater phone look super futuristic. Here are a few things that you might need to pull of what’s being showed in the video.
Creating a 3D hologram using just your smartphone and some ordinary household objects is really easy, as YouTube user Mrwhosetheboss shows us. Here’s what you will need: graph paper, a CD case, tape, a pen, scissors, a knife and, of course, a smartphone.
This whole setup when placed on top of a phone’s screen serves as the image being projected into the air. If you are extra crafty you can use Blender to create your own 3D video (if you do that and don’t make Star Wars holograms I will be disappointed in you).
