Enemies of China, Pakistan are Common: COAS
United States Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Dan Feldman on Saturday lauded Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif for his role in bringing together all parties to hold peace talks between the Afghan government and the Afghan Taliban, Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Bajwa said on Twitter.
He termed the ties of the two countries deep and resolute and reminded that the “all-weather friendship, sweeter than honey, higher than Himalayas, deeper than oceans, is a source of pride for us. Our friendship will further grow in these testing times”.
He also talked about China Pakistan Economic Corridor and said that it would benefit entire region and he hoped that entire world looks at CPEC through same lens. He added work was going on in full gear.
COAS Sharif has also stated that enmity with China will be considered enmity with Pakistan.
“The COAS has also announced the army would donate one day ration for the affectees”, the statement maintained.
He said,”Pakistan Army and People Liberation Army (PLA) form edifice of our strategic relations. We will defeat nefarious designs of forces detrimental to us”. The Army Chief pointed out that the elimination of the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM) – an extremist group which largely operates in the border Xinjiang region – was a manifestation of their resolve.
He congratulated Chinese people and army on 88 anniversary of PLA and appreciated sacrifices by courageous people of China in pursuing their dreams.
He said so while presiding over a meeting in Rawalpindi to review the army’s ongoing drive in flood affected areas.
