Rahul invokes Mahabharat, tears into BJP at Congress plenary
The Pandavas were humble and fought for the truth.
Union Minister of State (MoS) in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh on Sunday said the Congress celebrating the results of Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha bypolls even as its candidates lost deposit money showed the party’s mentality. Rahul said the BJP was the voice of an organisation while the Congress was that of a nation.
A three-member delegation of Bangladesh Awami League (AL) attended the plenary session of the Indian Congress in New Delhi on Saturday. “The ill-considered demonetisation and hastily implemented GST have destroyed small scale enterprises”, he said.
The Congress President said it is a battle between truth and lies and likeled this fight to the one between “Kauravas” and “Pandavas”.
Gandhi referred to shortcomings of the Congress saying that workers who were at the back of the packed hall had the energy but there was a wall between them and party leaders. “Moreover, economists have also highlighted India’s widening regional economic disparity among its States”, it said. There will be some hurdles but let us come together and fight these elections.
The BJP leader, addressing ceasefire violations at the Line of Control (LoC), also said that the government would take cognizance and act on the same. Siddaramaiah said that Sonia Gandhi played a vital role in the revival of the United Progressive Alliance in 2004, which restored the country’s political stability.

Responding to the allegation by Congress President Mr Gandhi at the party’s plenary, Ms Sitharaman said that his speech sounded like rhetoric of a person, devoid of substance. He was, instead, trying to divert the attention of the people.
“The government always says that India is the fastest growing economy in the world”. Mass unemployment is the biggest threat India faces. Farmers are committing suicide.

Taking a dig at the Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Dr Jitendra Singh said, why did the Congress Party not find fault with the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) when they continued to be in UPA Government for 10 years by winning two consecutive Lok Sabha elections.
