Weather Authority: Dry weather continues into the weekend

Sunday: A 40 percent chance of showers.

The high for Saturday will only be 37 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, and rain, sleet and snow are expected throughout the day and night. NWS predicts wet and heavy snow with wind gusts of up to 35 miles per hour that could cause tree branches to fall and cause power outages.

The greater focus will likely remain north enough to preclude mention of rain through Sunday…but areas of PATCHY DENSE FOG will affect the area beginning Sunday morning. The added moisture and daytime heating would also help add fuel to the rain chances.

Saturday will dawn with a chilly but dry morning, along with a blend of clouds and sunshine. It may not be complete overcast, but don’t hold out for a sunny day.

The Warning is for a relatively short period of time: 10 p.m. Friday night through 1 p.m. Saturday.

We’ll host a few showers this weekend as we continue our warming trend.

A PEEK INTO NEXT WEEK: Expect a mostly dry Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with daily highs in the 50s, 60s, and 70s, respectively.

An even larger warm-up looks to arrive next week, along with chances for precipitation. It’s not out of the question by Thursday and Friday, some areas do approach 60 degrees.

Today: Sunny during the morning then gradually becoming partly cloudy. As mentioned, rain is still likely for our Thursday, but it may start to come to an end by the end of the day.

Meanwhile, thereafter, the pattern looks breezy and cooler for Good Friday, with a mostly sunny and pleasant weekend now anticipated for Easter Weekend.

The next system rolls in Monday, bringing light rain. Expect fair conditions this evening and tonight as we cool to an overnight low down into the upper 40s to mid 50s.
