Huawei P20 Pro: Leica Triple Camera, ISO 102400, DxOMark Score of 106

The two handsets share a lot of common elements in the specifications department, with the primary change being the screen size and number of cameras. It is just a touch shorter and narrower than the P20 Pro, and also a touch thicker.

First up: the P20 (pictured above).

The Huawei P20 sports a 5.8-inch full-HD+ (1080×2244 pixels) RGBW FullView display, with the W standing for White, and meant to provide better sunlight legibility.

The Huawei P20 Pro has an f/1.8, f/1.6 and f/2.4 wide aperture to capture the smallest details in crystal clear quality and a brand new Leica 3x telephoto (VARIO-SUMMILUX-H 1:1.6-2.4/27-80ASPH) lens especially created for long-range photography of up to 5x Hybrid Zoom.

On the back, the P20 has two cameras.

The front camera boasts a 24-megapixel sensor-a big upgrade from the P10’s 8-megapixel front camera, and one that’ll allow for some seriously sharp selfies. Another distinguish feature is the inclusion of an in-screen fingerprint reader as well as a rear fingerprint reader. The P20’s main camera unit comprises two sensors, a 12-megapixel RGB and 20-megapixel monochrome sensor, with maximum f-stops of 1.4 and 1.6 respectively. All of this results in shattering the previous high scores of 99 for the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, 98 of the Google Pixel 2, and 97 of the Apple iPhone X. The Photo sub-score is even more impressive, at 114.

For colors, the phone comes in black, midnight blue, rose gold, and a insane “twilight” color, which seems to color shift from purple to green. The Huawei P20 Pro will be available starting on April 6 for €899 (around US$1,115), according to The Verge.

Huawei has previously stated its long-term ambition to become the number one smartphone brand in the world by the early 2020s – the firm now has the third -largest market share behind Apple and Samsung.
