Taking to her Twitter handle, Irani mocked Congress president with “Chhota Bheem” jibe and said even the cartoon character, “knows that commonly asked permission on Apps don’t tantamount to snooping”.
The French security researcher Elliot Alderson on Sunday tweeted that he had similar information of “data leak” about the Congress’ mobile app. The link that he posted is actually a defunct link.
The website associated with the NaMo app was updated to clarify that there might be certain user information which is shared, such as name, device information, and location with third-party services.
He said when there is an official government app that seeks information on 15 points, what is the need for having a personal “Namo aap” which seeks data on 22 indicators. The membership data was being collected only on the website and these data are being stored in our servers, Amazon Cloud Services, which is based out of Mumbai. However, soon after on Monday, the Congress deleted its app from the Google Play Store before Alderson could share his tweets. This morning we were forced to remove the app from the Playstore as the wrong URL was being circulated & people were being misled. That is why we had to remove it. Rahul Gandhi attacked Prime Minister after BJP was alleged to be stealing user data with the NaMo app.
The app did not seek user consent (a global practice) while making this change to the privacy policy unilaterally. “Ye kya RahulGandhi ji it seems your team is doing the opposite of what you asked for. When you sign up for our official App, I give all your data to my friends in Singapore”, Malviya Tweeted. “CleverTap doesn’t sell, share, rent, re-market, or do anything amusing with publisher data”. That is the difference between them and us. Our coders are in-house.
WizRocket is a data analytics platform developed by a US-based company called CleverTap. The party has been accused of sharing the users’ data with American companies.
“Modi government is also not telling the Parliament that cost of different crops varies in different states”.
“The Congress is running scared and has started spreading rumours and lies because they have been caught stealing data”.
This comes just days after Union IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had issued “warning” to Zuckerberg for the reported data breach from Facebook by Cambridge Analytica firm. Rahul Gandhi accused that Narendra Modi is Spying on Indians and building a personal database. “He also believed that poverty can not be ameliorated by mere distribution of capital.Today our monetary policy, Start Up India, Stand Up India initiative have become seedbed for our young innovators and young entrepreneurs”, Modi pointed out.
