“The SIT will go into the entire gamut of issues involved in the incident”, Kumar told a press conference. “Those at fault, whoever they might be, will not be spared”, he added.
Uttar Pradesh DGP OP Singh said, “ADG Lucknow has been asked to probe the matter thoroughly”.
Sengar has, meanwhile, refuted the allegations levelled by the rape survivor, terming them a “conspiracy against me”. “Also, the Chief Minister should step down on moral grounds as he failed to protect the honour of a woman and her family”. The state’s home department said the girl had not named the MLA in her first complaint lodged previous year. SP of Unnao, Pushpanjali said four accused six policemen, including SHO Makhi Ashok Kumar Singh, outpost incharge and four beat constables have been suspended.
“A judicial probe by a magistrate has been ordered into the custodial death”. She also charged the Unnao police with not taking any action and registering a case on her complaint.
According to NDTV, regarding the rape accusation against him, Kuldeep said, “It is a pre-planned incident of the woman and her family to defame me”. The investigation by the SIT will establish the culpability of anyone and everyone who is involved in this episode and action will be taken accordingly.
Surendra Singh, whose daughter had accused the BJP legislator from Unnao, Kuldeep Singh Sengar, of raping her, was picked up by police late on Sunday and was apparently beaten mercilessly by four aides of the legislator as well as the police personnel.
Unnao: The medical report of the father of the 18-year-old woman, who had alleged rape by Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and his brothers, has confirmed assault.
When contacted, Sengar refuted the allegations against him and said, “It is a conspiracy hatched by my political opponents to tarnish my image and damage my reputation…”
The victim, also a resident of Bangarmau area, had claimed that the MLA, his brother and some other supporters had gang-raped her after she had approached the lawmaker for a job. “Allegations can be proved only after a thorough probe”, Rajiv Krishan, Additional District General Lucknow zone told ANI.
