Sunrisers beat Mumbai in a nail biting finish
In a thrilling match that went all the way to the last ball, Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Mumbai Indians by just one wicket in their second home game at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on Thursday night. Rohit who had made 15 against Chennai Super Kings was dismissed for 11 against Sunrisers.
Contrary to the norm this season, four of the last five meetings between these two sides have been won by the team batting first.
His seven wickets, including the four scalps that he captured in a low-scoring tie against Sunrisers, earned him the purple cap. Bhuvneshwar did not played against MI due to back pain and it remains to be seen whether India’s premier fast bowler starts against KKR or not. But in hindsight, the moment that resulted in SRH winning the match actually came in the fourth ball of the third over.
He added: “I always look for the weakness in the batsman”. Jasprit Bumrah judged a skier from Dhawan perfectly, and then Rohit Sharma pulled off a stunner when Markande left a similar skier to him. “It’s important we adapt well, learn from some things from this game”. “He is bamboozling very good cricketers. I would like to continue my performance like this in the future”.
Talking about Markande, he said that the bowler is impressive in the field. “Mayank is wonderful to watch”. The pitch was not different from the first game. The way he bowled is incredible. “I know he’s really disappointed”, he said.
There’s very little a team can do when defending a small total except back itself into bowling the opposition out. It is evdent from the fact that they managed to take both the matches into the final over. Surprisingly, neither of these performers were the ones who were actually involved in the last-ball drama. Interestingly, Rashid received this award in exchange for just one wicket. They might get a game here following back-to-back defeats. It was another tough loss for us. Both these sides have played a couple of matches now, tried out a few possible permutations and combinations and would know what they’ve done right or wrong in their previous encounters. Posting 160 or 170 would have been a good score. “We were still confident at the halfway point that we had enough runs to win the game”. Amit Mishra and Jayant Yadav are good bowling options with Nepal teenager Sandeep Lamichanne to back the experienced spinners. This will be the 10th match of the tournament. Will they continue the same this time or will there be a change in the strategy. If the Team who win eg: SRH won the Toss or MI won the Toss.
