India, Pakistan trade heavy fire on border
A BSF (Border Security Force) spokesman said, “Pakistani Rangers resorted to firing of small arms and mortar shells on BoPs along IB in Kanachak and Pargwal sectors of Jammu district from 0540 hours (IST)”.
There has been spurt in ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops on along the LoC and the global Border (IB) since last month.
On Sunday night, Pakistani troops fired at posts in four different sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in heavy crossfire.
This is second ceasefire violation along the IB in 12 hours, he said.
“They also started firing at our positions in Balakote sector of Rajouri district around the same time”.
Desperate to push terrorists into the state, Pakistani troops and Rangers have been resorting to unprovoked firing on Indian side off and on.
The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) resorted to unprovoked intensified firing on border villages in Bajwat sector of Working Boundary on Saturday, according to local media sources. There have been three incidents of sniper attacks by Pakistani troops along the LoC in July. There have been more than 20 ceasefire violations along the Indo-Pak border in July in which four persons, including three jawans, were killed and 14 others injured.
