Giannis Antetokounmpo spills secret to Milwaukee Bucks’ success
Australian big men Thon Maker and Aron Baynes made quality contributions for their respective teams as the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Boston Celtics in the an National Basketball Association play-offs.
The way Giannis Antetokounmpo is playing right now, Milwaukee is a scary sight and are right back in their series against Boston with a tremendous grip on the momentum heading into Game 5.
Jaylen Brown: Brown had another strong game for the Celtics, scoring a career-high 34 points on 13-for-24 shooting to go with eight rebounds.
The 40-year-old Manu Ginobili added 16 points and five assists for the victors, while Rudy Gay chipped in with14 points and seven boards, Dejounte Murray 12 points and Kyle Anderson 10. Milwaukee, which won Game 3 116-92, has never won a series after starting in an 0-2 hole. Throughout the game, his effort on both ends of the floor helped the Celtics fight back from a 20 point 3rd-quarter deficit.
With the win, the Bucks have evened their first round series at 2-2.
Expectations were low for the Boston Celtics as the playoffs got underway.
LaMarcus Aldridge had 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Spurs, but they were willed to the finish by the Ginobili.
They will broadcast up to seven lives games per week throughout the regular season and the first and second rounds of the playoffs, as well as every game of the conference finals and NBA Finals.
If Game 4 is any indication, the Bucks are going to be a hard out; whether that be for Boston or beyond.
But the firepower of Antetokounmpo (27 points) and the remarkably steady Khris Middleton (23) was again too much to overcome.
Milwaukee shot 52.1 percent from the field and 43.5 percent from three.
“We got the look we wanted”.
After the break, Boston outscored Milwaukee 67-53 – a testament to the resurgence of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. With 9:03 to play, Morris drove the lane and tied the game at 77.
After the Celtics tied things up, the Bucks nailed a pair of baskets, with Al Horford knocking down both free throws in between the Bucks’ baskets. However, they quickly turned it around at the mid-way point and went on a 19-5 run to close the first including two buckets in the final 1.2 seconds.
The shot was crushing for the Celtics, who fell short when Marcus Morris’ 15-footer at the buzzer bounced out off the back of the rim. It was reviewed for a foul, but none was discovered and the game was over. It’s been more fun than most people expected, given the Bucks aimlessness and the Celtics injury issues, and a lot of that has to do with the joy of watching Giannis continue to elevate his game, figuratively and literally.
