Mitt Romney taunts Russell Westbrook during Thunder loss
Starting with Gobert cutting to the rim for a dunk with 3:45 left in the second quarter, the Jazz scored on 11 straight possessions.
“That’s just what you’re going to get with a playoff team”, George said. Westbrook’s teammates promised to do their part as well.
Mitt Romney has a great seat to watch the Utah Jazz.
Those guards, of course, are reigning NBA MVP Russell Westbrook and Rookie of the Year candidate Donovan Mitchell. The Jazz, ranked 15th among the NBA’s 30 teams in offensive efficiency this season, has become a potent offense against the Thunder.
With Utah trailing 47-43, Rubio scored 10 consecutive Jazz points and his 3-pointer and subsequent three free throws gave Utah a 53-49 lead. They’re now down 3-1 to the Utah Jazz and they could be going home for a win-or-go-home Game 5 without two of their stars in Russell Westbrook and Steven Adams. Ricky Rubio has managed to put up similar numbers in the first round, giving Utah the edge, thus far. Joe Ingles added 20 points, hitting five 3-pointers. And we have Steven Adams, who was hardly ever in foul trouble this season, racking up calls in both Games 2 and 3, helping swing the series in Utah’s direction.
Speaking of bulletin board material, Westbrook tried to hold up his guarantee right from tipoff, picking Rubio up full court and digging deep into a defensive stance – even clapping his hands – on the first possession. Westbrook emotionally did not.
Did Rubio flop on the play? The latter would be an ejection and a suspension for Game 5. Was it a foul? Westbrook picked up his first foul by “accidentally” tripping Rubio and the tension remained between the two throughout the entire game. Did Rubio flop? Probably.
Good news for Mitt. the Jazz were able to close it out and eventually won the game 113-96. taking a 3-1 lead in the series. OKC can hardly find any easy shots, and the presence of Gobert in the paint alone significantly changes what the Thunder can do offensively. After last game saw 217 total points, expect tonight to take a downturn in the scoring department. And there was even more trash-talking and physicality than whistled. Defense has become the Thunder’s problem.
