Liverpool complete signing of Brazilian midfielder
Allan Rodrigues de Souza became Liverpool’s latest Brazilian import after sealing a £500,000 deal with the club – and will be hoping to follow compatriots Phillippe Coutinho and Lucas Leiva in securing a path to the Anfield first team.
The Reds have already signed another Brazilian Firmino in the summer transfer window, and now have confirmed the signing of another highly talented 18-year-old young Brazilian midfielder.
Liverpool’s two big money summer signings Roberto Firmino and Christian Benteke trained with their new teammates for the first time on Tuesday, Mail Sport reports.
Allan came to Brendan Rodgers’ attention after some strong performances with his club at the Frenz global Cup in Malaysia and Indonesia, where he scored a screamer against Porto from 40 yards.
Allan is the third youth signing of the summer for Liverpool after 16-year-old Bobby Adekanye from Barcelona and 17-year-old Brooks Lennon from Real Salt Lake City.
Here are some of the best pictures from the Liverpool pre-season training session at Melwood. While both of those new youngsters are set to fill attacking roles, the left-footed Allan is a deeper lying creative midfielder who has shown a knack for dictating the tempo from the centre of the park.
Moreover, the manager has also handed trials to Uruguayan duo Juan Manuel Sanabria and Agustin Pereira, who are now training at Liverpool’s Kirkby academy.
