Cape May County schools celebrate Arbor Day
As part of the Arbor Day celebration, DEC announced that is has achieved 10 consecutive years of dual forest certification for more than 780,000 acres of State Forests under the Sustainable Forestry Initiative and Forest Stewardship Council forest management standards.
The event was moved indoors due to rain, but that didn’t dampen the spirit of the students.

The annual event is a collaborative effort by ReLeaf, the City of Greenville and area schools and was attended by members of the N.C. Forest Service recognize Arbor Day and promote tree planting in the area.
The Department of Natural Resources and the Arbor Day Foundation presented Purdue with the Tree Campus USA award for the 9th year in a row.

The kids had a chance to sing, dance, learn about the environment, and plant trees to help improve the city.
