Giuliani, a former USA attorney, later told the New York Times that Cohen had made the payment to Daniels “on his own authority”.
Asked whether Cohen has made payments to other women on behalf of Trump, Giuliani said, “I have no knowledge of that, but I would think if it was necessary, yes”.
He said that it’s clear to the American people, “what’s going on and it’s a cover up”.
The inquiry hit a crescendo last month, when the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided Cohen’s property and confiscated a trove of documents and devices linked to Cohen’s clients, including Trump. “His personal attorney had discretion to do this, and that people who are wealthy and people who are famous do this routinely”, Conway said.
Daniels’s lawyer, Michael Avenatti, accused Trump of having an “extramarital affair slush fund” and told ABC he believed similar payments had been made to other women.
Giuliani would consider allowing the president to testify before a grand jury if he got “the Hillary Clinton treatment”, he said.

Both Giuliani and Trump have insisted the payment to Daniels was not a campaign expense.
Avenatti spoke Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” immediately following an interview with Giuliani on the same show.
On Wednesday, Giuliani said Trump was aware of the payment arrangement and that it did not constitute a campaign finance violation. “I don’t know”, Giuliani responded.
