More Nintendo Switch Online details have finally revealed, as owners of the hybrid console look forward to the service’s launch in September.

Nintendo Switch Online will cost $3.99 per month in the US, or $19.99 per year.

Kotaku is reporting that despite featuring these NES games as part of Nintendo Switch Online, the Virtual Console will not be returning to Nintendo Switch.

While many had hoped that the cloud backup feature would be a free service, Nintendo is sweetening the deal with these NES games. The cloud data saves will actually be enabled before September, but Nintendo did not release the details on when it will go live. Nintendo says that it will announce the additional 10 games in the future, possibly when the Switch Online service is close to launching. The classic collection of NES titles is a treasure trove in of itself, and save data backup is a feature that frankly should’ve been with the Switch when it launched. Members will also receive “Special Offers” but again Nintendo are yet to confirm specific details.

Paying for an online Switch subscription will also let you take multiplayer games like Splatoon 2, Arms, and Mario Kart 8 online. Rather than paying $19.99 a year for an individual membership, you can opt to pay $34.99 for the Family membership.

What is included in Nintendo Switch Online? Right now, anyone with the console can play online for free, but that won’t be the case once the service is rolled out.

Online multiplayer hasn’t always been the best aspect of Nintendo’s consoles, but with the Switch, there have been signs that things might change for the better. Subscribers can also get discounts on games or content on the Nintendo eShop.
