Google Assistant to get six new voices
It’ll engage with you, but it’s hardly the most natural conversationalist. For example, if you have plugged in a pair of headphones, it will show you action to play music you were listing to earlier. Well, the exact same feature is coming to Android P. Thanks, Apple! It’s slightly different from the Android In-Car Concept that it showed off past year at Google I/O, with the main difference here being that it has the Google Play Store.
It has also introduced a new gesture that automatically switch over to DND mode whenever you place it face down on a surface. This is achieved as users are not asked to give permission which allows the app to unrestricted access your activity.
The tech giant wants to bundle its voice assistant into every device and app and is bringing Google Assistant in Google Maps.
Imagine being able to carry your Android TV device around with you pretty much like a Chromecast. That’s cool. Isn’t it? Moreover, for the first time, Google pushed the Android beta version for the non-Pixel devices. Once this is done, you’ll notice the usual three-button virtual bar changes to become a single home button and a back button (the latter disappears when not relevant).
As you type, Smart Compose pops up suggestions about what you might want to write next – similar to Google autocomplete.
You can install Android P beta on Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL, Google Pixel 2, and Google Pixel 2 XL very easily.
It also makes the process of installing the Android P beta a lot less painful than in the past. Another shortcut to enter the split screen mode is to hold down the recent apps button in the navigation bar but it too doesn’t work anymore in Android P Beta. All you will have to do is provide the date and time to the Google Assistant. So what kind of features can users expect with camera integration?
You can also use it for everything you would use the Assistant for, such as setting timers, answering questions, and even placing grocery orders. Android P will also focus on doing things faster with features like App Actions (that predict your next move) and Slices (that surface portions of apps that you need at the moment).
