Iranian President Hassan Rouhani asserted his commitment to the deal.

Iranian Army Chief-of-Staff Mohammad Bagheri said Wednesday that the Iranian public had misgivings about the 2015 nuclear deal with the West “from the outset”, according to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Earlier, MPs, including a Shia cleric, held the flaming flag alight as their colleagues joined their chants in parliament.

Macron, Merkel and Theresa May reiterated their “continued commitment” to the Iran nuclear deal, stressing that it “is of particular importance to our shared security”.

“For as long as Iran abides by the agreement – and the IAEA has publicly reported its compliance, Iran’s compliance, nine times so far – then Britain will remain a party to the JCPOA”.

Mr Trump on Tuesday made good on his campaign pledge to pull out of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, which waived sanctions in turn for the regime curbing its nuclear programme. Deal has fueled Iran’s malicious expansion driven by its extremist ideology. But that was nothing compared to the vitriol coming from some other Iranian leaders.

Earlier Wednesday, French President Emmanuel Macron and Iran’s Hassan Rouhani agreed to work toward “the continued implementation of the nuclear deal” along with Britain and Germany, despite the USA decision to withdraw from the agreement.

While Trump supporters praised the move, analysts and critics said it undermines Washington’s credibility in future negotiations – particularly with North Korea – and potentially empowers the very hardliners in Iran that Trump vilified in his remarks. European Union officials have suggested they’ll do what they can to salvage the agreement.

“An aggressive Iran was emboldened as a result & its ballistic missile program became both offensive & exportable” the senior UAE diplomat warned.

Iran’s government must now decide whether to follow the US and withdraw or try to salvage what’s left with the Europeans.

“OPEC and its allies will need to confront sooner rather than later the fact the terms of the deal will need to be changed in order to maintain the current cooperative framework if it wants to stay true to its balanced market goal”, he said. “Everything depends on our national interests”.

“There are areas beyond the (nuclear) accord that we must talk about”, she said. He added that Iranians know full well Israel’s capabilities, and its willingness to defend itself. Many say they have not seen any benefits from the nuclear deal.
