Honor 10 details: iPhone X and Galaxy S9’s features remixed
In the Europian market, Honor 10 is available at the price tag of Euro 399.90 (roughly Rs. 32,300) for 6GB+64GB variant and Euro 449.90 (roughly Rs. 36,400) for 6GB+128GB variant.
Huawei’s online youth-oriented brand Honor launched its flagship phone the Honor 10 in London on Tuesday. We also already did some exclusive hands-on pictures so if you want to know more, head over here to check it out.
The Honor 10 comes with 24MP and 16MP cameras on the back, with “AI 2.0” features supported by the NPU processor in Huawei’s Kirin 970 chipset.
The Honor 10 comes with a glass fused to an aluminum design. But while in the case of the Mate RS, the sensor is embedded within the display, in the case of the Honor 10, it lies under the cover glass of the device’s front face. It looks similar to the Huawei P20 series. The display has a resolution of 2240 x 1080 pixels and covers 96% of NTSC color space.
The process taken to achieve the Honor 10’s minimalist finish wasn’t simple, it was a result of the world-class industrial techniques and sophisticated engineering processes, which required the utmost precision and delicacy. The device is powered by a top-notch HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC having eight cores (four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.36GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz).
Not sure whether it’s the phone for you?
We knew the Honor 10 was coming – its China reveal was in April 2018 – but now we can confirm it’ll be priced £399 for the United Kingdom market in its 128GB storage format. The flagship smartphone runs on Android Oreo 8.1 with the latest EMUI 8.1 on top. This majorly includes scene and object recognition.
The invites didn’t mention any name of the smartphone, but the teaser image has disclosed the design of the unit and its dual-camera setup on the rear panel. Optical image stabilization (OIS) is absent. We’ve seen this on phones like the Pixel XL’s portrait mode, where the AI is used to pick out the subject from the photo and blur the background. There’s also an LED flash on the back.
You can find out more about the Honor 10, how it compares with its rivals and how much it impressed us in our Honor 10 review. It has fast charging support via 5V/4.5A Huawei Super Charge. That’s what we work hard for everyday at honor. But we don’t just stop at making a good product. So the Huawei P20 is a fair bit more expensive. The phone comes with a “Phantom Colour” glass back, which changes colour depending on light. European countries set to get the Honor 10 on May 15 are: Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Turkey.
Even then though, at between £150-£200 less the Honor 10 could prove a very tempting option if it’s as good as it sounds on paper.
