Brazil captain Thiago Silva backs Fabinho to be success at Liverpool
Now that Fabinho has dotted the i’s and crossed the t’s on his Liverpool contract, what can we expect of him in the Premier League?
“I’m not close to Liverpool”, Fekir told Telefoot when questioned over a possible move to Anfield.
“The comparison there is quite interesting because there is a player who is versatile, can play in midfield, can play as a full-back”. He ranked very highly in Ligue 1 last season for duel success, tackles won and aerial dominance.
“It’s been a few years since he demonstrates his quality”.
‘He is also very good for someone who comes to a new country, a new city – someone who speaks the same language.
The newspaper suggests that a deal will cost the Merseysiders around £60m and Liverpool are keen to get their latest big-money transfer wrapped-up before the World Cup begins next month. “We have signed a fantastic player, but someone who is an equally fantastic person I think”. “Honestly, I don’t know”.
Asked in an interview with RMC Sport if he would like to see Liverpool FC sign Fekir, Fabinho replied: “Yes”.
It appears Lemar may still be on the club’s radar, too.
Fabinho is Liverpool’s first-choice defensive-midfield transfer target and will become the club’s first signing of the summer.
However Jurgen Klopp wants Liverpool’s business to be finished before pre-season training starts.
To put that into context, in their respective leagues, both Keita (37) and Fabinho (30) created more chances than Henderson (20) and assisted more goals combined (8) than the Reds’ captain (1).
He also spoke with fellow Brazilian, Roberto Firmino about moving to Anfield.
In addition to Naby Keita’s pre-agreed move from RB Leipzig, the Reds have captured Monaco’s Fabinho for a fee in the region of £44 million. Technically he is exceptional, and his dynamism would make him a fine fit for Klopp’s blueprint.
