ASUS announces new ZenBook, VivoBook notebooks, and VivoWatch BP healthcare wearable
Between the narrow bezels and the ErgoLift hinge, the VivoBook S offers a decent screen-to-body ratio of 86% for the 15-inch and 84% for the 14-inch.
If anything, that certainly makes the ZenBook S look distinguished and unique, also helping with rapid heat dissipation to keep those 8th Generation Intel Core processors nice and cool at all times. “Our innovation synergies continue to this day, imagining new notebooks so unique in design and features, and rich in AI-enabled experiences, they’ll transform the way people engage with their PCs to accomplish wonderful things”. The screenpad can be used either for detailed pinpointing of an element on the bigger display or as a secondary screen. As for the specifications, the VivoBook 15 and 14 are powered by Intel’s 8th Generation Core processors along with Nvidia’s GeForce MX150 GPUs. An Asus rep told us that the ZenBook Pro 15 lasts up to 10 hours, with the ScreenPad off (you can use it as a regular touchpad) but just 6 hours with it on.
Asus has replaced the touchpad on your new premium Zenbook Pro 5.5-inch touch screen. The primary storage drive is a 1-TB PCIe x4 SSD.
Speaking of the ASUS VivoBook series first, the brand launched three Windows 10 notebooks – VivoBook S15, VivoBook S14, and VivoBook S13, with the number representing their display sizes respectively. The ZenBook Pro 15 with ScreenPad is built for demanding professionals who value power, top-end specifications, and innovation in an elegant design. Though Asus has included support for popular software like Microsoft Office and apps such as YouTube and Spotify, the company plans to release a ScreenPad SDK in the coming months to encourage third party development. Enjoy immersive multimedia on its 15.6-inch 4K UHD NanoEdge PANTONE validated display with 100 percent Adobe RGB color gamut, ∆E (Delta-E) 2.0 color accuracy and powerful Harmon Kardon certified audio system. ZenBook Pro 14 also comes with a discrete GPU, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1050 Max-Q card. It will come in Deep Dive Blue and Rose Gold color scheme which ASUS claims as luxuriously stylish without being brash. The ZenBook S is created to be compliant with the MIL-STD-810G durability standard. The weird-looking notebook tilts the bottom half – where the keyboard lies – up to a 5.5° when it’s completely open.
The line-up of VivoBook notebooks includes the VivoBook S15 (S530), S14 (S4 30) and VivoBook S13 (S330) lightweight laptops powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 CPUs.
The ZenBook S offers a total of 3 USB Type-C ports, two of which are Thunderbolt 3 enabled and all of which support fast-charging and display output. Project Precog will also use both Amazon Alexa and Windows Cortana, allowing users to navigate the convertible using voice commands.
