Trump asks US representatives not to endorse G7 communique

Russian Federation has been shut out since its 2014 annexation of the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine, and has since earned Western condemnation for its military intervention in Syria in support of dictator Bashar al-Assad.

Mr Trudeau didn’t respond to questions about Mr Trump when the prime minister arrived at a Quebec City hotel today for meetings with other world leaders. Trump as a result did not sign onto the joint statement concluding the meeting.
