Mr Cash said that if East Coast was prepared to use trains which met the basic assurances sought by RMT then FGW should as well.
Other union members working on maintenance will strike on August 29 and 31.
It comes after a 48 hour strike last month, which led to widespread disruption to services between south Wales and London.
“We congratulate our members for their rock solid support for the strike action last month and we know that they remain united and determined as we continue with our campaign on these crucial issues”.
As local news site Get Reading reports, the RMT union has confirmed FGW staff will stage industrial action for 72 hours between Saturday 29th August and Monday 31st August.
The train company also runs a number of services right across the southwest of England.

There are going to be more strikes on Cornwall’s trains on one of the busiest weekends of the year. “These trains will help us deliver faster, more frequent services in the south west, and create an additional 1,000 peak-time seats a day for customers on the route”.
