Emmerdale set for ‘biggest week in soap history’
(Picture: ITV)As a helicopter crashes into her wedding party, cheating bride Debbie Dingle could be about to pay the ultimate price for betraying her husband to be Pete, especially if these pictures are anything to go by.
Debbie’s dad Cain will lock Ross in the back of a van to stop him from revealing his affair with his brother’s wife-to-be, while Adam is sleeping in a vehicle close to the explosion.
In a furious rage with husband Robert over his affair, she sets fire to his prized vehicle in the scrapyard and the fire quickly gets out of control. So I said they could move it but regretted that because I was just lying on stone.
“We were really, really careful to make it clear what the cause of the accident is”.
She has not revealed who dies but it is thought several characters will die.
“It isn’t about sensationalism, it’s about creating stories that people care about”. So we kept it very deliberately far apart.
Watch Emmerdale’s Anthony Quinlan (above) talk about the wedding, the stunts and a wardrobe malfunction which left him exposed to the whole cast and crew!
Oates said: “I think it’s the nature of soap viewers now to compare it not just to the plane crash of ’93, but with the tram crash in Corrie and the siege for us”. It’s apples and oranges really, because they’re very different stories. I’m sure people will compare, but they’re very different and hopefully when people watch the episodes, they’ll forget about other soap disasters and just become involved with the story. “That’s all I want”.
She said: “Debbie’s always in the middle of some disaster or catastrophe and this is another one”. “She does it very much in the moment, it isn’t premeditated but it has disgusting consequences”.
Emmerdale’s disaster week starts Monday at 7pm, with an hour-long special on Thursday. .
